Slovak cycle club is non- profit organisation, which operates throughout the Slovakia. This organisation has 25 subsidiaries and roughly 2,000 members. Slovak cycle club is a member of the European Cyclists' Federation based in Brussels. The main aim of our organisation is building the cycle routes in Slovak republic and provided their connection on the european network. At present is in Slovakia marked 4,500 km cycle routes. These routes are marked with the uniform system of marking. It considers from painted marks - with form "C" and elements of cycle tourist orientation - cycle indicators. Generally these routes are distinguished for mountain bikes and road bikes. In the country they are marked with four colors. Red color have long- distance cycling arterial road, blue, green, yellow color have regional routes. Marked cycle routes are also drawn into 9 cycle- maps. This edition is published by the Army Cartographic Institute, Harmanec. ( A scale of a map 1:100,000. Mapes cover the whole territory of the Slovak republic. People can buy them everywhere in Slovakia, one part of the map is also guidebook, description of the cycle route, profile of the route. Information are compiled in german, english, maps of north regions are also in polish, maps of the south regions are in hungarian.

The regions of the Slovak republic with the most cycle routes are:

Považie and Kysuce - from the meanings of the project Phare Credo was by SCC marked 1,000 km cycle rotes in year 2000. These are lead in valley of the river Váh and Kysuca, also through the mountains Javorníky, Strážovské vrchy, Súľovské skaly, Highlands of Kysuce, Kysucké Beskydy. The most of the routes are incorporated to the Kysucká and Vážska cycling arterial road.

Záhorie - from the meanings of the project Phare CBC was marked 750 km cycle routes in year 2000. These are mostly lead through the Záhorská lowland. The longest routes are Záhorská cycling arterial road, Malokarpatská cycling arterial road and Cycle route around the river Morava.

Poľana - in this region was realised 320 km cycle routes, marked by the SCC. These are established mainly for mountain bikes, the longest is The Circle around the Poľana, Rudohorská cycling arterial road.

The High Tatras - in the highlands was marked and permissible 20 cycle routes, with total length is about 200 km. The routes are established mainly for mountain bikes, guide visitors round the valleys of The Tatras, to some chalets and also are the guide through the foothill.

Podunajsko - around the river Danube was marked more than 200 km cycle routes, leading on the embankments of the Danube and are established mainly for road bikes, some parts also for mountain bikes.

Slovenské rudohorie and Levočské Hills - in this region was marked several cycle routes with total length about 300 km. These are mainly for mountain bikes. Some of them lead across the Slovak Paradise.

Surroundings of Prešov - in the east region of the Slovak republic slovak cycle band Boneshaker marked about 250 km cycle route - Karpatian cycle road. This year our subsidiary has marked about 70 km cycle routes.

The Low Tatras - south - under the Chopok and in the valley of the Hron was marked about 100 km cycle routes leading across the beautiful foothill of the Low Tatras, suitable mainly for mountain bikes.

Žilina - Rajec - in the coutry was marked 110 km cycle routes, for mountain and road bikes.

The Slovak karst - in this region is marked 70 km cycle rotes in the surroundings of Gemerská hôrka and Plešivec. These routes are suitable for road and mountain bikes, in the near future is planed their expanding.
